This initiative was carried out by student volunteers from the National Service Scheme wing of the college, operating under the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Government of India, as part of the ‘ Vasudha Vandan’ program.

The primary focus of the event was the plantation of 75 saplings of indigenous trees, a project that will span over the course of a week. Furthermore, a remarkable turnout of 150 students registered themselves for the newly formed Green Army, each receiving distinctive green badges. The Green Army’s noble responsibility is to nurture and safeguard the newly planted trees.

The inauguration of the program took place in the college’s seminar hall, featuring the traditional lighting of the lamp and a warm welcome to esteemed guests. Additionally, he addressed the vital issues concerning the rights of water and land for tribal communities.

Distinguished guest, Institute Secretary Surendra Pal Singh, delivered a speech that delved into the Quit India Movement, India’s Partition, and the invaluable contributions of Mahatma Gandhi.

The program also included praises from Upendra Pandey, the sarpanch of village Kandra, who commended the college’s role in regional development and pledged his full cooperation.

Following the speeches, the guests proceeded to the college garden, where a collaborative effort saw the planting of various tree species, including red sandalwood, amla, neem, sal, jackfruit, peepal, karanj, and kadamba.

The execution of the program is under the guidance of A.P. Barnawal, with coordination efforts from Sushma Kumari and the Green Army Apoorva Sinha. Prof. Siddlal Hembram, Anuvartit Ekka, Gurmel Singh, and Anil Singh were also active contributors to the initiative.
