Bokaro: In a joint search operation, the CRPF and police recovered two powerful landmines planted in a cave in the Barkikudi forest of Palamu Panchayat under Penk Narayanpur police station.
It is estimated that the landmines weigh 30 kilograms each. According to police, the landmines were diffused at the spot on Wednesday.
According to Bokaro SP Chandan Jha, “search operations were launched after a tip-off where two landmines were found”. There is a possibility that Maoists planted the explosives to target the police, since they are usually conducting drives against illegal coal mining and transport in the area.
