Bokaro: Despite of Covid scenario and other factors, Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) performed its best in financial year 2021-22. All the major production units of SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) – Coke Ovens, Blast Furnace, Sinter Plant, SMS-CCS and Hot Strip Mill achieved more than 90 % of their annual targets for the fiscal. There were also new records related to production made in different units.
Exhibiting robust growth, most of these departments made new annual and monthly production records surpassing the previous best performances. On techno-economic front as well, positive indices indicated lower coal usage, lower water & power consumptions and lesser overall energy consumption. Highest sale of By-products from Coke Ovens and Marketing departments improved the revenues even further.
