Bokaro: SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant has added another feather in its cap by winning the prestigious Greentech Environment Excellence Award 2020 in the “Recycling & Waste Management” Category. Greentech Environment Awards 2020 is presented in recognition of responsible, innovative practices and initiatives towards achieving sustainable goals.
The Environment Control Department (ECD) of BSL had filed an application on behalf of BSL in the “Recycling & Waste Management Category”. Head of the Environment Control Department (ECD), Navin Prakash Srivastava and assistant general manager (AGM), Nitesh Ranjan gave a presentation and answered the queries of Jury members on October, 27.
The jury member consists of ex-chief factory Inspector, ex-MD Canara bank, ex-director, ONGC and other eminent personalities. Based on the application filed and presentation given in front of the Jury, BSL has been declared the winner of the “Greentech Environment Award 2020”.
The award will be presented during the “20th Annual Greentech Environment Summit” scheduled on February, 12 at Mahabalipuram. Concerted efforts of Bokaro Steel Plant in waste utilization including innovative work done in the field of LD slag, implementation of Zero Discharge Projects, utilization of BF slag, and improvement in Environmental performance parameters helped BSL in achieving this glory.
On this achievement, Director Incharge of BSL, Amarendu Prakash congratulated the entire BSL fraternity and reaffirmed Bokaro Steel’s commitment towards sustainable development and Environment Conservation.
