Bokaro: On 14th April every year, India celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti to pay tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, who is regarded as the Father of the Constitution of India. He was also Independent India’s first law minister, and his contributions to the country’s social, economic, and political landscape continue to be celebrated to this day.
To honor his legacy, a special assembly was held by the students of class 6 at Pentecostal Assembly School on 13th April 2023. The assembly aimed to instill the values given by Ambedkar and to encourage students to contemplate their rights and responsibilities.
The assembly began with the school prayer, followed by a speech and a poem dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar’s memory. The highlight of the event was a small skit that depicted the Dr. Ambedkar childhood. The skit showcased his determination to fight against injustice through education, leading to his famous mantra of “educate, organize, and agitate” for eradicating social evils.
Dr. Karuna Prasad, the principal of the school, appreciated the thoughtful performances presented by the students and encouraged them to imbibe the right constitutional values and always stand for justice and equality. The assembly concluded on a proud note with the singing of the National Anthem.
Ambedkar Jayanti is not just a celebration of the life and legacy of one man but a reminder of the principles that he stood for. Dr. Ambedkar was a champion of equality, social justice, and education, and his teachings continue to inspire generations of Indians to this day.
