Bokaro: The much-anticipated 9th Mar Theodosius Inter School Fest 2023 commenced on Tuesday at MGM Bokaro with an illustrious gathering of dignitaries and enthusiastic young participants. The inaugural session, graced by prominent personalities, set the stage for two days of intense competition and artistic expression. The Fest promises to be an exciting and inspiring platform for young minds to shine and grow.
Distinguished Guests and Notable Attendees
In the presence of Anand Shekhar, Additional Planning Director at NITI Aayog, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, and Kuldeep Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro, as the Special Guest, the event was off to a promising start. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion were H.G. Alex Mar Acebius, President of Kolkata Diocese, and Bhagiratha Samay, an Arjuna awardee.
Principal’s Welcome and Fest Overview
Principal Reggie C Varghese extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and participants. He highlighted the festival’s significance, emphasising that students from 23 schools across seven states would showcase their talents through 51 diverse competitions. These competitions encompassed a wide array of activities, including poetry recitation, essay writing, science models, logo designing, and various sports.
Words of Encouragement and Wisdom
The Chief Guest, Anand Shekhar, encouraged the young participants to prepare themselves for the competitions, setting the tone for a spirited and competitive event. Dr. Father Joshi Varghese, Education Officer of MGM Group of Schools, imparted valuable wisdom, advising the children to focus on learning and growth rather than getting caught up in the dichotomy of victory and defeat.
Artistic Extravaganza and Club Displays
The festival witnessed mesmerising presentations of folk dances, group dances, and state-themed tableaux, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of India. Additionally, nine clubs associated with the school displayed their year-long activities through stalls, earning well-deserved commendations.
Speakers emphasised the importance of continuous skill enhancement, urging the young talents to hone their abilities and reach for new heights.
The event also saw the participation of Vice Principal Rakhi Banerjee, Academic Incharge Ancy Varghese, and the Principal of several schools, along with a large number of enthusiastic students and proud parents.
