Bokaro: World Earth Day, Sree Ayyappa Public School in Bokaro hosted a special program to engage students in hands-on activities and discussions focused on environmental conservation. Students presented innovative ideas and inspired others to promote a deeper connection with the Earth.

School director Dr. S.S. Mahapatra delivered a thoughtful speech emphasising the importance of environmental protection and the students’ role in conservation. Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar praised the program as an opportunity for students to increase their environmental awareness and urged them to embrace new perspectives on the earth and its preservation.
The day began with a tree-planting ceremony led by students from class 12. A special prayer was also conducted, along with a ceremony involving the worship of the Peepal tree planted in the school premises. The students highlighted the harms of plastic and resolved to promote a “Plastic Free Zone Campaign” in their lives.
Students from various classes participated in activities such as making handprints with environmental slogans, crafting Earth Day badges, and creating posters and paintings on Earth and the environment. Classes 6 and 7 performed an environmental song that resonated with the audience.
A real photography competition was organized to raise awareness, attracting parents, students, and staff. The school grounds were decorated with colorful posters and slogans celebrating Earth Day, drawing attention to the importance of environmental consciousness.
The event concluded with the school’s director, principal, teachers, students, and staff planting trees in the school premises, reaffirming their commitment to protecting the planet.
