Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro hosts financial literacy workshop with RBI’s vision for a Fraud-Free future


Bokaro: A workshop on financial literacy took place today at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, organized by the Reserve Bank of India, Ranchi. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prem Ranjan Prasad Singh, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning.

The student council welcomed the dignitaries with a traditional song and presented them with a plant as a gesture of appreciation. Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar expressed pride in the Reserve Bank of India’s upcoming centenary, noting its significant role in financial education and development. He emphasised that incorporating financial knowledge into school curricula is crucial for national progress.

During his address, Prem Ranjan Prasad Singh highlighted the importance of starting financial education at a young age. He stressed that the Reserve Bank of India is committed to fostering economic growth and awareness among the populace. With India rapidly advancing towards becoming a major global economic power, Singh underscored the Reserve Bank’s efforts to combat financial fraud and promote financial literacy through various initiatives.

A quiz organised by the Reserve Bank of India’s Ranchi branch further engaged students, rewarding those with correct answers. Singh advised careful investment decisions, prudent use of net banking, and vigilance against fraud, such as avoiding unknown links and protecting personal PIN codes. To conclude the workshop, three fruit trees were planted on the school grounds to symbolise growth and sustainability.
