The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has issued an official directive to the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for the creation of a dedicated Mining Vertical within the organisation. This new vertical will focus on the efficient management, production, and expansion of SAIL’s mining operations.
SAIL sources said The new Mining Vertical will be headed by a newly appointed Director (Mines & Logistics), a post that is to be created following existing rules and procedures. Until the appointment of this Director, the responsibilities will be overseen by the current Director (Technical, Raw Material and Projects).
The decision has been approved by the Hon’ble Steel Minister, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthen the operational efficiency of SAIL’s mining activities.
The directive was officially communicated by Gopalakrishnan Ganesan, Director, Ministry of Steel, from Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.
