Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro celebrated its 39th Foundation Day with a vibrant display of cultural performances, academic honours, and heartfelt speeches. The event brought together distinguished guests, school alumni, staff, and over 200 award-winning students.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha (IAS) was the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Shatabdi Majumdar (IAS), Deputy Development Commissioner, Rajnish Kumar (IFS), Divisional Forest Officer. Also present DCLR Prabhas Dutta and prominent school principals, alumni who once began their educational journey at DPS Bokaro.
Culture Meets Celebration
The programme began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a melodious welcome song by the school choir. An orchestra performance added a musical grandeur to the day. Traditional dances — ‘Monsoon’ and ‘Celebrations’ — stole the spotlight, showcasing India’s cultural vibrancy. The Primary Wing students also performed special dance acts during their morning assembly. Their energetic displays added charm to the occasion.
Academic Awards Take Centre Stage
A major highlight was the prize distribution ceremony titled ‘Medha’, where over 200 students were honoured for excellence in academics, arts, and other fields. Toppers of SSE and SSCE 2025, along with perfect scorers, were felicitated. The school also released its quarterly magazine ‘Zenith’, featuring student-written articles and institutional achievements.
Philanthropy with Purpose
Reinforcing its motto “Service Before Self”, DPS Bokaro distributed new uniforms to students of Deepansh Shiksha Kendra, which supports children from underprivileged backgrounds. The initiative reflects the school’s social commitment beyond academics.
Speeches That Inspired
In his keynote address, Ajay Nath Jha lauded the institution for its consistency in delivering quality education and social values. “DPS Bokaro has produced responsible citizens and global achievers,” he said, urging students to uphold empathy and dedication.
Guest of Honour Shatabdi Majumdar spoke on the role of schools and society in shaping students, while Rajnish Kumar emphasised gratitude toward teachers and the need for inspiration along with hard work.
Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar praised the leadership and commitment of the chief guest and congratulated all winners. He encouraged parents to stay involved with their children’s moral and emotional development and expressed hope that DPS Bokaro students will lead in diverse professional spheres.
