Bokaro: An in-house training programme aimed at strengthening teachers’ professional competencies and life skills was organised at Sree Ayyappa Public School on Saturday. The six-hour programme was conducted under the leadership of Principal P. Shalija Jaykumar with the objective of equipping educators with contemporary teaching practices and essential life skills for holistic education.

The programme began with a Ganesh Vandana, where teachers chanted devotional hymns seeking wisdom and success for the training session. The spiritual opening created a positive atmosphere and set the tone for a day of learning and reflection.
Critical and analytical thinking
Sessions during the programme covered several important themes related to modern education and personal development. Ujjwal Kumar Mahato and Ashish Kumar Jha spoke on thinking skills and the development of the cognitive domain, highlighting the importance of critical and analytical thinking among students. A session on social skills focused on the role of interpersonal communication and teamwork in shaping responsible individuals.

Promoting equality
Financial literacy was discussed by Ram Dulari, who stressed the importance of budgeting, saving, and basic money management. Archana Pattnaik addressed gender sensitivity and emphasised the need for promoting equality and awareness of gender roles in society.
Eco-Warriors
Environmental awareness was highlighted by Sitesh Kumar Jha and Ashok, who encouraged eco-friendly practices and the concept of “Eco-Warriors” among students. Abhilasha conducted a session on digital citizenship and online safety, focusing on responsible internet use and cyber security.
Emotional balance
The programme concluded with sessions on career planning and personality development by Nazir Ahmad and confidence building by Nirupama Singh. Vijaya Bhasan also addressed emotional skills, explaining stress management techniques and the importance of maintaining emotional balance.
The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Mahto, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, management members, and teachers for their participation.
