Bokaro: In a momentous accomplishment, 25-year-old Aditi Jha, a resident of Chira Chas, Bokaro, has achieved the remarkable feat of securing the second position in the prestigious Indian Economics Services (IES) organised by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The announcement of the results brought forth Aditi’s exceptional academic prowess and dedication.

Aditi’s academic journey has been nothing short of exemplary, marked by consistent brilliance and determination. She began her academic voyage by achieving a perfect 10 CGPA in Class 10 from Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS). Subsequently, in Class 12 commerce at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Aditi displayed outstanding achievement with a remarkable 95 percent.
Continuing her quest for excellence, Aditi pursued a bachelor’s degree in economics, securing an impressive 80 percent. Her academic trajectory reached new heights with a Master’s in applied economics from Christ University, Bangalore, where she attained an enviable 85 percent in 2021.
The culmination of her academic achievements came with success in the National Eligibility Test (NET) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) organised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2023.
Family and Passion for Economics:
Aditi’s family plays a crucial role in her support system. Her father, Dilip Kumar Jha, is employed at LIC, while her mother, Kumari Abha, serves as a lecturer in a Ramrudra Government High School. Aditi’s passion for economics became evident during her intermediate years, prompting her to choose it as her academic pursuit.
Over time, her dream evolved into aspiring to become an IES officer, contributing directly to shaping government policies in India. Aditi expresses, “I aspire to be a policymaker directly contributing to the Government of India.”

Aditi’s dedication to her studies is reflected in her rigorous routine of 8-10 hours of daily study. Her commitment extended beyond textbooks, as she made it a point to stay updated by reading newspapers regularly. Aditi’s outstanding performance in the IES examination took even her by surprise, but she is now eager to embark on her career, with the added aspiration of pursuing a PhD.
