After class XII, students can get admission to IIM, Ranchi


Bokaro: It is good news for students who dream of studying MBA at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM). For MBAs, they don’t have to wait until they’ve completed their undergraduate degree. Even after Class-12, they can get admission to a full-time MBA course.

The IIM, Ranchi has introduced a new programme that allows students to join right after Class XII and study towards an MBA Degree in the institute. Students are also given an option to exit after the 3rd year with a BBA degree if they desire. A total of 120 seats are available in the programme.The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) of IIM Ranchi is a full-time 5-year blended course of business studies from undergraduate to postgraduate level (Integrated BBA-MBA). Students will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the end of the programme.

The inauguration ceremony of the new Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) and the Induction ceremony of the first batch of the programme was held today on 18 October 2021 at IIM Ranchi in a mixed offline as well virtual mode.

The Inauguration and Induction Event today was graced by Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who spoke in the event included Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi, Prof. Shailendra Singh, Director IIM Ranchi and Prof. Virajanand Varma, Chairperson-IPM. Prof. Shailendra Singh.Director IIM Ranchi welcomed the dignitaries to the event and mentioned about the planning and development of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). He stated that the Institute had started with 1 program and 44 students and in a period of 11 years now have 7 programs and more than 1000 students in its rolls. He talked about the continuous rise of the institute in NIRF Scores and Rankings and stated that he expected the institute to rise further in the future.

Minister of State, Govt. of India declared the Programme open and welcomed the new students to the Institute. He congratulated the students and the parents on their achievement and encouraged them to keep up their spirit of learning and continue working hard for the future. He also highlighted the role of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which has facilitated the inclusion of transformative curricula that aim for the holistic development of learners, equipping them with the key 21st-century skills, enhancing essential  learning and critical thinking, and placing greater focus on experiential learning, thereby providing a holistic approach to the learning process. He also expressed his desire that the institute shall implement recommendations of NEP 2020 in its letter and spirit. He emphasised on the fact that as future business leaders they have a duty to take India to new heights. Dr. Sarkar specially praised the fact that around half the students who are joining the  programme are female students and he expected that this will encourage more girls to choose a career path as business managers and leaders.

Dr. Sarkar talked about how the different schemes of the Government under the leadership of PM Modi such Digital India and Skill India were taking the country to new heights. He asked the students to grow up to be job creators rather than being job seekers. He emphasized on the importance of adoption of new technology and continuous upskilling and reskilling to stay relevant.

Prof. Virajanand Varma, Chair-IPM welcomed the new students to the programme and expected a fruitful five years for them. Praveen Shanker Pandya spoke about the development of the new campus of the Institute and also about the continuous rise of the institution in the academic community. He encouraged the students to keep working ahead for the development of the country.
