National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked state education department to take appropriate action against private schools of Bokaro which have increased the fees by 15-20 % in this session. Increasing school fees is against the advisory issued by NCPCR to private schools regarding fee-related issues during Covid-19 lockdown on April, 04, 2020. Commission has received a representation vide email from a Bokaro resident Mahendra Ray alleging that the 10 private schools of Bokaro has increased the school fees during this pandemic. Ray in his complaint had mentioned the names of the prominent schools of the town. DEO, Neelam Eleen Toppo said that “we are looking into the matter”.

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) again on Wednesday sends 83.67 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen in five tankers from Oxygen Express for Uttar Pradesh and 22.88 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen in two tankers brought from Madhya Pradesh for airlift. BSL is playing a very important role in providing medical oxygen to the states facing crisis for treatment of corona patients during this pandemic. It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the month of April, 9219.28 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen has been supplied to other district of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh from BSL, a unit of SAIL.

Former Chandankyari MLA and a senior JMM leader Haru Rajwar passed away at Asarfi Hospital in Dhanbad on Wednesday. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday night suffering fever and other health problems. Rajwar remained three-time MLA from Chandankyari assembly constituency in Bokaro district. His son Panchu Rajwar told that for the last few days, the health condition of his father was not good. He was suffering from a fever. He was rushed to the hospital when his condition deteriorated. There he was tested Covid positive and doctors diagnosed infections in the lung. The residents of Chandankyari mourned death of their former MLA. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed grief over the passing away of senior leader. He also tweeted condolences. MLA, Chandankyari, Amar Bauri and former MLA of AJSU, Umakant Rajak also expressed condolence on his death.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Singh on Wednesday asked the magistrate and the police officials to make Health Safety Week effective and successful. It has been made mandatory for all two-wheelers, four wheelers to have E-Pass. DC has directed officials to take action against the drivers who are not complying with the rules and caught without E-Pass. He also asked police officials to ensure that no vehicles should enter inside the border of the district without valid E-Pass. On DC’s instructions, Block Development Officer of Chas, Sanjay Sandilya inspected the check post at Pindrajora.

Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro, Rajesh Singh on Wednesday inaugurated a quarantine center built in Barmasia High School of Boriadih Panchayat under Chandankyari block of the district. He also inspected the Covid Testing camp conducted by CHC Chandankiyari’s and gave necessary guidelines to the doctors. He also inspected inter-state check posts at Bengal border. During the inspection, at a checkpost in Birkham DC has looked the register and gave necessary guidelines to the magistrates and police officers present at the spot. He asked the magistrate present there and tell if there is any problem at the spot. On this, the magistrate told that there is a lack of light at this check post point that causes difficulty in night. He assured to install the light soon.

Police on Wednesday recovered a dead body of a 31-year-old youth lying on roadside at Kunwarpur village under Chas Mufassil police station area. It appears that the deceased was killed by unidentified criminals. Preliminary police investigation revealed that the deceased was murdered. There was injury marks on his head, which indicates that he was hit by a sharp weapon. Police attempted to identify the deceased, but could not succeed. It is being told that the local people informed the police station in-charge Subhash Paswan that the dead body of a youth was lying on the roadside. Police reached the spot and sent his dead body for post-mortem of whose report is awaited.

In the second wave of the Corona pandemic, many children’s lost their parents. The state government has decided to take care of these orphaned children. On the direction of the government, now such children will be taken care of in the Women’s Shelter Home and Cooperation Village located in Chas ITI Moad. For this, the district administration has completed all preparations. The center will be started on May, 21. Arrangements will be made to accommodate girls in the Women’s shelter home and boys in Sahyog village. Children whose parents are undergoing treatment in the hospital suffering from corona infection will also be provided care by the administration.

The District administration has asked residents to use Arogya Jharkhand app to check the result of the given sample by entering their registered mobile number, sample, and date. Arogya Jharkhand App can be installed from Play Store for free. “After entering your mobile number and date of sample in the first phase, the name and details of the relevant person are shown in the second phase, after which the result related to that person’s sample can be assessed. There is no need for people to go to the hospital again and again as they can get the exact information on their mobile sitting at home through the Arogaya App,” said civil surgeon.
