Bokaro: The eagerly awaited Ninth Mar Theodosius Memorial Inter School MGM Fest 2023 is poised to captivate audiences on the 7th and 8th of November, taking place at MGM Higher Secondary School, Sector 4 F, Bokaro. The event promises a grand celebration of culture and sports, with an array of 16 cultural events and 29 sporting competitions.
Father Reji C Varghese, the Principal of MGM Higher Secondary School, Sector 4 F, Bokaro, shared this exciting news during a press conference held in the school auditorium, emphasising the festival’s dual offline and online formats.
“A diverse array of talents will converge, as students hailing from 23 MGM schools across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand participate and showcase their skills. The festival aims not only to nurture students’ talents but also to instill a deep connection with the country’s rich heritage and culture while promoting the pursuit of excellence through sports,” said Varghese.
The event’s inauguration on November 7th will have distinguished guests, including Anand Shekhar, Additional Mission Director of NITI Aayog, Kuldeep Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro, the eminent Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Bhagirath Samai, and Father Dr. Joshi Varghese, the Diocese Education Officer of Kolkata Diocese.
The closing ceremony on November 8th will be graced by esteemed guests, including Bishop Alexius Mar Eusebius, President of the Institute, Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Executive Director Works at Bokaro Steel Plant, Bhagirath Samai, the celebrated Olympian and Arjuna Awardee and UK Singh, General Manager at BSL.
Preparations for the competition are in their final stages, with provisions made for accommodations, food, and transportation for out-of-state students. The event also saw the presence of several key figures, including school management committee members, faculty, and media representatives, ensuring the festival’s success and fostering an environment of cultural exchange and sportsmanship.
