Bokaro: The Pentecostal Assembly School hosted a Prospective Resource Person Training Programme on gender sensitivity in Schools. The event was attended by 9 Principals and 51 teachers from different schools in the city.
The resource persons for the session were Dr. Manisha Tiwari, Principal of Vidya Vikas Public School, Ranchi and Soni Kumari, TGT of DAV Public School Sector 4, Bokaro Steel City. Both the resource persons were warmly welcomed by the Pentecostal Principal, Karuna Prasad, and the faculty members of the school. The event began with a prayer and welcoming of the guests.
During the session, the resource persons spoke about gender, gender equality and inequality. They emphasized the importance of raising awareness and providing learning opportunities regarding equality for individuals with different gender identities throughout various stages of their lives. Gender sensitivity training is intended to make us more aware and sensitive to gender issues.
To achieve the objectives of the training, various activities were planned and executed. Karuna Prasad appreciated the objectives of the resource persons.
The training was an excellent opportunity for teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills in addressing gender issues in schools. Such sessions are crucial for creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students, regardless of their gender identity. It is hoped that more schools will follow suit and prioritise gender sensitivity training for their faculty and staff.
