Bokaro : The district administration has begun the process to construct Collectorate Building finding a new site in ITI Moad, Chas closed to the National Highway (NH). The proposal in this connection has been sent to the state government and is expected to receive the nod soon. The new Collectorate Building is planned to come at about 7 kilometers far from the present DC office. It will be outside the township.
Presently Collectorate Building is running at Vikas Bhawan of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in Camp-2 of Bokaro Steel Township. It was shifted there in 2014 from the older building which at present hosts the office of superintendent of police (SP), education department, and other few departments of revenue section. Assessing the growing need for Collectorate Building, DC, Rajesh Singh has initiated the process for it.
There are already few designs ready for Collectorate Buildings with the state government, of which the administration has chosen the modern and magnificent design of the Collectorate Building built in Chaibasa. DC said “the new Collectorate Building is going to be constructed in 7.5 acres of land, which we have identified between ITI Moad and Kandra area in Chas. The land chunk is in the prime locality and well connected to other parts of the district”.
The district administration has got the papers and documents related to the land from Dhanbad Registrar’s office as earlier people had an impression that it was forest land. However, DC said that the land records purely state that the chunk is of DPLR and now they have initiated for construction of the Collectorate Building there.
“I am expected to get the approval soon from the state headquarter,” said DC. Roughly the new Collectorate Building will come up with a cost of Rs 75 crores. The Collectorate Building houses the offices of the Deputy Commissioner’s, collector, Land Revenue, Land Acquisition, Revenue and others with state-of-the-art facilities. New Collectorate Building will be dedicated to better work culture and development. The building will have offices set up under one roof. Office of sub-divisional officer (SDO), Chas will also come up there.
Now at this stage of time there is no any need of such a building which will be located at near jail gate . All the concerning departments related to development as well as related to WWE health and education are situated at camp 2.. recent proposal for the administrative building near jail gate is completely meaningless. This is proposal is just a perfect example of mis management of public money.
