Bokaro: In order to create awareness and encourage people towards fitness and sports, a cycle rally was organised in the township on Sunday. Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) organized Cycling to Glory under the mission “Active Bokaro, Healthy Bokaro”. An executive director (Personnel and Administration), Sanjay Kumar flagged off the event and other officials were present.
BSL’s communication chief Manikant Dhan said the cycle rally was intended to create health awareness among the residents of Bokaro in conjunction with Global Active Partner City. The rally involved about 250 participants, among them children, women, and senior citizens.
Cycle rally started from Sector-5 Patharkatta Chowk and went to Gandhi Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, Lake Road, Ram Mandir, and ended at Patharkatta Chowk.
Medals were awarded to participants in the cycle rally. More such events are planned to fulfill the mission of Global Active Partner City through public participation. Executive Director (Materials Management) A Srivastava and Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) S Rangani. Chief General Manager (City Administration) BS Popli, Chief General Manager (Mechanical) VK Singh, Chief General Manager (Vigilance) Arun Kumar along with other officials of BSL, Football Academy members and volunteers were present during the rally.
