DPS Bokaro stands up to the ‘Save Soil’ initiative on the occasion of Earth Day

Bokaro: Responding to the clarion call by Sadhguru to ‘Save Soil’, a special programme was organized on the occasion of Earth Day 2022 at DPS Bokaro where the students of Primary and Senior Wings took the pledge to protect Mother Earth. The theme for the year was ‘Invest in Our Planet’.

During the Special Assembly, the students pledged to plant, nurture and take care of the environment. A special mime presentation was given by the students of class VII that strongly advocated the message “The more water you waste, the lesser your life on Earth will be.”

An enchanting dance presentation by the students beautifully encapsulated the need to conserve the soil. The school planner on the theme’ Changing phases of Education’ was released on the occasion.

The students of Primary Wing celebrated Earth Day and imbued everyone with enthusiasm and courage to take action against climate change.  The young Dipsites shared their messages with innovative slogans, vibrant Earth-Day badges, creative headbands, artistic bookmarks, and songs on the importance of saving our planet. The young minds showed their awareness on topics such as global warming and climate change in the Earth-Day Quiz held in each class.

On this occasion, A.S. Gangwar, Principal DPS Bokaro said, “The School encourages the idea of sharing the responsibility of being a global citizen. We continue to act locally and think globally.” He urged the students to use water and electricity judiciously to bring sustainable development where we all can have a greener and safer future. “We should not spoil the beautiful relationship between mankind and mother nature. We should continue to take up new initiatives to restore and replenish the divine harmony”, he added.

DPS Bokaro has already been taking up a plethora of activities with the aim to protect and nurture the planet and to show respect towards Mother Earth. Students also participated in activities for ‘nurturing nature’.

The school also promotes green initiatives by organising campaigns like ‘Say no to polybags’, ‘ Save Water’, ‘Proper garbage disposal’, ‘Plant trees to save Earth’ etc. The School is also engaged in various nature projects like Rain Water Harvesting & Solar Power Project. It has also set up its own Paper Recycling Unit for reusing the waste paper generated by the students. The School has its own garden of medicinal plants, Charak Vatika and A sapling was planted by the principal here to commemorate the occasion.

In its humble attempt towards community welfare and to open up the treasure house of knowledge for the underprivileged children of Deepansh- a shiksha Kendra run under the aegis of the school, study materials were distributed to 43 students of Class I in the special assembly.
