DPS Bokaro students visit Kurra village under the Experiential Learning Programme


Bokaro: With an objective to bridge the gap between urban and rural India, students of DPS Bokaro visited Rajkiya Madhayamik Vidyalaya, Kurra under the initiative of ‘Chalo Gaon ki Ore’, an Experiential Learning programme. It helped students to understand the rural living conditions and inculcated the consciousness of social responsibility and cooperation for rural development. The programme was initiated with sapling plantation by the Principal of DPS Bokaro, Dr. A. S. Gangwar to instil the spirit of environmental concern among all. A vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students of both schools showcasing a sense of teamwork and mutual respect for each other. The rural students welcomed the DPS Bokaro students with a beautiful welcome song followed by two captivating dance performances based on Jharkhand folk culture. Students of DPS Bokaro performed a dance based on the traditional theme of ‘Guru-Shishya’. One of the highlights of the day was an interactive Rangoli-making session where students from both schools exhibited their creativity through hands-on learning.

Sanjay Kumar, Headmaster, Rajkiya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Kurra appreciated this initiative taken by DPS Bokaro to promote the idea of holistic development for the students of both schools. To conclude the day Dr. Gangwar gifted stationery and sports items to the students of Classes I –VIII extending the school’s support and encouragement for rural development.

Dr. Gangwar lauded the efforts put in by the school. “Transforming rural India is crucial for new and developed India and our students should be the frontrunners in this initiative to bridge the rural-urban divide”, he added.
