The two-day regional conference of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) which began in Kolkata on Wednesday focused on new road projects of about 500 km in Jharkhand. In these projects, a presentation was given to start the work soon on the eight-lane expressway of about 200 km from Banaras to Kolkata via Bokaro Ramgarh.
Of the 500 km of new projects, 350 km will be built in the green field area. Apart from this, about 150 km of roads will be two to four lane. It also includes Ranchi Four Lane from Littibera. According to NHAI Regional Officer SK Mishra, more than 30 projects related to the state were discussed in the conference. Discussions took place on how to solve the problems.
NHAI President Alka Upadhyay held a meeting with the officials of the Eastern Region States of Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha and North-East States in view of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. During this, emphasis was laid on expediting the road construction by removing the obstacles.
