Bokaro: Police on Tuesday arrested Anand Nayak (25), who attempted to kidnap his 14-year-old maternal cousin, but failed. Later to hide his bad intention, Nayak fabricated his own kidnapping story, but got exposed and landed in police custody.
Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Bermo, Satish Chandra Jha said that police solved the case within 48 hours. Jaridih police arrested Nayak and his associate Vivek Ganjhu in this connection. “Nayak had planned to kidnap his cousin Vivekanand a student of Class-9, but when he did not succeed, he made up his own kidnapping story”.
Both the arrested accused is resident of Chhapargarh in Tenughat. “Nayak planned to kidnap his cousin for Rs 2 lakh,” said DSP. In police interrogation, Nayak confessed that he reached his maternal uncle’s house at Tiro village in Jaridih on Sunday.
In the evening Nayak went to the ground with his cousin. According to the plan, Ganjhu and few others came and caught Vivekanand and Nayak. They forcibly tried to take both of them. But, Vivekanand somehow managed to escape and reached home. When Nayak saw his plan doesn’t work out, he showed himself to be kidnapped.
However, Vivekanand reached home and narrated the incident to his parents telling them that Nayak seems to be kidnapped. Following which his father informed police about the incident. However police investigating the matter traced Nayak’s mobile and found it active, taking location from it, they caught Nayak and found he is not a victim, rather he has hatched the plan of kidnapping.
