PVR raises the curtain in Bokaro with 50% sitting capacity and discounted ticket rates


Bokaro: PVR Cinemas has raised the curtain in Bokaro on Friday with a strategic focus on building customer confidence as its primary objective. The first day of reopening saw only few movie lovers, but there was a good number of queries for the weekend shows.  “We have opened at discounted rates of Rs 112 which is far lesser than previous rates,” said sources. Residents especially youths were seen taking selfies and making facebook live at the gallery outside PVR ticket counter in the Bokaro Mall. They were happy seeing their favourate movie screens reopened almost after a year. The entrance of the PVR cinema was decorated with balloons.

Currently, PVR Cinemas in Bokaro would be running movies such as Tom & Jerry, Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi and Vijay the Master. From Saturday, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari and Chakra Ka Raksha will also be added. And in the coming weeks movies such as Roohi, Mumbai Saga, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Haathi Mere Saathi, Godzilla Vs KongSaina among others will be screened.

In an effort to ensure health, safety and sanitization, and to build customer confidence, PVR is implementing stringent hygiene protocols, social distancing and food safety measures, along with minimal human contact across all touchpoints. Chequered Audi seating with only 50% occupancy, social distancing marked queuing, digital contact-less transactions, operating 50% of the restroom facilities, installation of fibre and glass shields are some of the initiatives that have been introduced. In addition, all employees of the company undergo daily health screening and will be seen wearing PPE gear, face masks, gloves and face shields for extra protection.

Special PPE kits with masks, gloves and sanitizers have been made available for purchase as well. Further, the entire premises undergo an EPA-approved complete ULV sanitization process at regular intervals which helps in coating the surface with anti-microbial layers with electrostatic machines. Deep cleaning and disinfection regimes are followed every end of the day by specially trained staff using medical-grade disinfectant chemicals, apart from the cleaning and sanitization after every show. The use of anti-microbial film on most-touched surfaces and hourly disinfection of key touchpoints with hospital-grade virucide, use of UV cabinets to sterilize all food packaging are some of the other initiatives that have been adopted.

The bookings are now live on PVR website and app, and all other platforms including BookMyShow, Paytm and Amazon.
