Bokaro: A 31-year-old key-man working at Bokaro Thermal Railway Station, was murdered by unidentified persons on Thursday morning. The deceased Anil Kumar was killed by a sharp weapon, said a police officer. The spot was at Mallah Basti, near pole number 40/34 of the railway line, ahead of the under-construction overbridge under Bokaro Thermal police station.
According to a preliminary investigation conducted by police, the incident occurred when Kumar was going from Bokaro Thermal Railway Station towards Barwabeda village to perform duty at around 5 am in the morning. The police are conducting an investigation to identify the criminals who killed Kumar and ascertain the reason behind the murder.
Police sources said, it seems that the criminals had hit on the neck from the back with a sharp weapon. When Anil fell down after being injured, they slit his neck. And the deceased died on the spot. Following the incident, the commuters informed officer incharge of Bokaro thermal police station, Ravinder Prasad Singh.
Kumar was a resident of Siyari village of Gomia police station area. He left behind his wife Sangeeta and two children. Police have taken the body in their possession and sent it for post-mortem. Officer in-charge of BTPS police station said that some leads have been found in the preliminary investigation, very soon the accused will be nabbed.
