Bokaro: The outbreak of COVID-19 disease has become a global pandemic for last one year causing health crisis for the human civilisation. Though the entire country is taking adequate measures to prevent the spread of Corona Virus, it is noticed that COVID-19 cases are once again rising alarmingly since last few weeks. The people, who are going out regularly for their livelihood and using public transport are very much vulnerable.
In this regard, South Eastern Railway is once again appealing to its valued passengers to adhere to the following COVID-19 protocols for breaking the chain of this highly contagious virus:
Always use mask while leaving home and never remove/displace the mask
Always sanitize hands when on move. Use soap and water whenever possible
Always try to maintain physical distancing
Always use tissue while coughing and sneezing and follow a good respiratory hygiene
Always avoid touching the face, nose and mouth to prevent the transmission of this deadly virus
To ensure the safe journey of passengers, South Eastern Railway has adopted several measures viz. regular cleaning and sanitization of coaches, platforms, wash rooms, encouraging commuters for online booking to avoid queue at counters, deployment of staff to check whether the health protocols are being maintained, regular announcement at stations and distribution of pamphlets among travelling passengers for spreading awareness etc.
Apart from the above, passengers without mask are not allowed to enter the station premises and single entry and single exit point at stations has been introduced. Booking counters are being sanitized regularly for the safety of the commuters and intending passengers are being encouraged to use Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM). Markings have also been drawn for queuing of the passengers at all relevant places including platforms and ticket counters. Adequate RPF personnel have also been deployed to ensure that health protocols are followed and passengers do not face any difficulty. To create awareness among the passengers as well as common people, adequate publicity campaigns through mass media has been undertaken to inform the passengers about the train services as well as COVID-19 precautions to be followed before and during journey.
