Republic Day 2021: Here’s how SAIL-BSL celebrated 72nd R-Day this year


Bokaro:  The Republic Day in Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) was marked by unfurling of the national flag by Director incharge, Amarendu Prakash and presentation of awards at the function organised at CISF ground on Tuesday. This year 99 employees of BSL, CISF, security and staff of Fire Services were felicitated. The awards were given to the employees for displaying exemplary performance and dedication for work. It is BSL’s one of highest honour.

Prakash presented Prashasti Certificates to 65 employees of CISF, BSL Security and Fire Services departments. The Karmshree Director Incharge Trophy for Best Shift Incharge was presented to 12 employees of the plant. Dr BR Ambedkar Award was presented to the team of employees from I & A department of BSL. Meanwhile, 22 other employees were presented the Suggestions Scheme Award.

DIG (CISF) SS Mishra, executive directors, chief general managers and other senior officials of BSL and CISF were present at the occasion. During the Republic Day program, parade was done by the CISF Jawans along with one platoon each from BSL Security and Fire Services Departments. BSL’s Safety Engineering Department also presented a tableau on Road-Safety to create awareness on this topic.

On his first Republic Day speech, Prakash highlighted the achievements of the plant in the recent past including several new records in production. He reiterated the theme of “Active Bokaro, Healthy Bokaro” and urged everyone to participate in the year long sports and well-being activities. Prakash said that BSL Collective has resolved to make “Every Month, A Better Month” which will reflect in all spheres of activities.

He also underlined his commitment for the betterment of civic amenities, upkeep of township, better facilities in Bokaro General Hospital and overall development of Bokaro. Later, Prakash and other officials also paid floral tributes at the Shaheed Smarak in the CISF premises.

The CISF Jawans presented various combat drills which thrilled the audience while the Dog Show by their Dog Squad stealed the show with their exemplary performance. Later in the afternoon, a friendly cricket match was organized between Director Incharge-XI Vs DC-XI at the Cricket Stadium.
