Bokaro: Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Visakhapatnam won the Inter-Steel Plant Badminton Championship on Sunday by defeating Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Bokaro. RINL defeated RSP by a score of 2-1 in the final.
Initial stages of the game were incredibly tight, with both teams fighting tooth and nail. Third place was won by Tata Steel, which defeated Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) by a score of 2-0. Executive Director, Personnel and Administration Sameer Swarup, presented the trophies to the winners.
The Inter Steel Plant Badminton Championship was organized from December 10 to December 12 by the Sports and Civil Amenities Department of Bokaro Steel Plant at Sports Complex in Sector-4.
A total of eight teams are participating in the Inter Steel Plant Badminton Championship, which includes teams from Bokaro Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, Rourkela Steel Plant, IISCO Steel Plant, Tata Steel, VISL, RINL and SSP.
It is mentioned that, team RINL-VSP won the All India Inter-Steel Chess Championship 2021-22 held under the aegis of Steel Plants Sports Board (SPSB) few months ago. Amidst the tough competition between 8 teams from different steel Plants, RINL-VSP won the Winner’s trophy by winning 12 match points and 19 board points. In this championship also, the runner’s trophy is won by the Rourkela Steel Plant team.
