Record production in Hot Strip Mill
The Hot Strip Mill (HSM) of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has set a new record by producing 14,673 tonnes (640 HR Coils) in one day. According to BSL officials, it is the best production in HSM history post modernization of the mill. The BSL director in-charge, Amarendu Prakash, is elated at this performance. In addition, HSM workers have also created a new record by producing 5535 Tonnes (234 HR Coils) in one shift on 29th August, which is again the highest ever since the mill was modernized. Executive Director (Works) Atanu Bhowmik congratulated the HSM team on their achievements. Team members who contributed significantly are: Rajan Kumar, Manas Dehuri, Mohammad Tabish, O Ahmed, Vijendra, Rahul Priyadarshi, Swetabha Kumar, Ashish Singh, Vijay Singh, SR Sah, and others.
Scholarship for children of displaced families
The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has announced a scholarship scheme for the children from displaced families for the first time. BSL management will offer scholarships to 25 meritorious children from such families as part of the Birsa Munda Scholarship Program for the academic session 2021-2023. The company has issued a circular regarding this. Chief of Communications, BSL, Manikant Dhan said, Birsa Munda Scholarship Scheme has been started for the meritorious children of displaced families. Under this scheme, children studying in class 11 and 12 will be given an amount of Rs 500 every month for higher education. It is also to be noted that the Education Department of Bokaro Steel will give this scholarship every year to those 25 children, who have performed better in the 10th examination. Also, they should have enrolled in class 11th in a recognized school/college
