Bokaro: A Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) executive, Anand Raj, won the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2021, India’s biggest and most prestigious business quiz. It is the first time any of the employees of Maharatna Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has won the prestigious Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz award.
Raj as a winner took home a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh rupees along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy. Giri Balasubramaniam, aka Pickbrain, hosted the quiz. Tata Crucible-The Business Quiz aims to gather the sharpest young corporate minds in India to take part in the toughest business quiz in India, said Manikant Dhan, chief of communication, BSL.
Raj began quizzing after joining SAIL-BSL. He says that SAIL has a wonderful culture in which quizzing is highly encouraged by the management, which motivated him to pursue it with passion. His success was attributed to his family, seniors, and BSL management for always encouraging him. Raj joined SAIL as a Management Technical Trainee (MTT) in 2010. He currently works as senior manager (Technical) at Executive Director (Works) Office.
Tata Crucible was held in a virtual online format. In this online format, the country was divided into 12 clusters. The winner from each of the 12 cluster finals competed in 2 semi-finals. The winner from each of the 12 cluster finals competed in the semi-finals and finally six winners qualified for the national final event.
