Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has bagged two prestigious export orders for supply of prime mild steel non-alloy Hot Rolled Coils of European grade EN 10025-2 S235JR to Italy. The first consignment of 12000 Tonnes of the product was flagged-off for despatch on Wednesday by executive director (Works) Atanu Bhowmik in the presence of other senior officials on Wednesday. The consignment will be shipped to the customer Steel Mont, Italy via Paradip Port.
Notably, BSL Plant under the leadership of director in charge, Amarendu Prakash holds the requisite CE Mark which is the certification licence for CE Mark Products for sale in Europe. Accordingly, the grade EN 10025-2 S235JR with CE Mark of various sizes including thickness of 2.50 to 15.00 mm and width of 1220 to 1740 mm is being despatched to the European customer. This is also the first time Bokaro Steel Plant is servicing a consignment with CE mark to any country in European market which is a giant leap forward for the steel plant, said Manikant Dhan, chief of communication, BSL.
Fulfilling the stringent Technical Delivery Condition requirements as per European Standards & norms was also a big challenge for BSL, particularly meeting the specified delivery schedule at the end of a crucial financial year (pandemic year). However, the team rose to the occasion and fulfilled all technical as well as delivery schedule requirements of the customer. The next consignment of 4575 Tonnes is scheduled for despatch next month.
This grade of steel is meant for application in structural related jobs. Although similar products have been produced by BSL in the past, this is a new product for BSL in the export market with a new specification. In future, BSL looks forward to supplying higher strength materials also, said Dhan.
