In a proactive initiative to bolster financial literacy and empower the future generation, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently conducted an Investor Awareness Seminar at the Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus (GGSESTC) Engineering College. The seminar served as a platform to enlighten students on the intricacies of financial management and investment strategies.

The seminar commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the enlightenment of knowledge. Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar, the college director, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed chief guest, Dr. Sujit Kumar Mukherjee.
The focal point of Dr. Mukherjee’s speech was the pivotal role of savings and investment, shedding light on their importance, components, various methods, necessary precautions, and the gamut of services provided by related financial institutions. Accompanying his discourse, an online presentation enriched the participants’ understanding of the intricate world of finance.

Following the enlightening presentations, an interactive question and answer session ensued, allowing participants to seek clarification on various aspects of finance and investment. Dr. Mukherjee adeptly addressed the queries, ensuring a comprehensive understanding among the eager participants.

Concluding the seminar, Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar delivered a keynote speech emphasising the three indispensable elements for wealth creation—knowledge, experience, and patience. The seminar, attended by 80 students and 10 professors from the Department of Management (M.B.A., B.B.A., and B.C.A.), was facilitated by the diligent efforts of B.B.A. students Sahiba Akram and Ragini Kumari.
