Steel Executive Federation of India (SEFI) chairman candidate A K Singh on Thursday promised MECON officials that he would leave no stone unturned to resolve the issue of pay revision with the management. Singh, however, was warmly welcomed during his visit to MECON, Ranchi for the election campaign.
It is mentioned that the SEFI election will take place in Hyderabad on March 12. SEFI chairman will be elected by officers from 16 units, including MECON, SAIL, RINL, and NINL, while the newly-adopted members NMDC and Nagarnar Steel Plant will be observers.
Three members represent each unit. A total of 48 members will vote. The votes of three MECON members will decide the outcome of the election. Singh is well connected with MECON officials and has been assured full support of the votes. Furthermore, they believe Singh is a firebrand leader of BSL who has always been a voice for officers.
Singh said “I will take up the pay revision issue of MECON with the concerned Ministry, and if necessary, we will take the help of numerous BJP MPs, including PN Singh, Kamlesh Paswan, Jagdambika Paul, Janardan Singh Sigriwal, etc”.
Singh emphasized that Management and Ministry must pay urgent attention to the pay revision issue of MECON. In spite of the fact that the revised package is not yet available from the ministry, the MECON board has already approved the proposal for the revision of the pay.
