Bokaro: An attempt was made to steal iron from the rail bridge of the Damodar River and Rail Diversion (DR&RD) under the Bokaro & Kargili project of Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) here. Since long ago, thieves have been stealing the iron from this bridge built on the Damodar river between Ghutiatand in Bermo police station area and Chalkari under Petarwar police station area. Nearly half of this bridge has been stolen. Thieves cut down the railway track on the bridge on Saturday and demolished it. CCL security officers arrived after receiving the information. The officer in-charge of the Petwar police station, Poonam Kujur, confirmed they had received this information. Officials of CCL were informed and asked to have the iron track lifted.
