Bokaro: The valedictory ceremony of the 2nd Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Championship organised by DPS Bokaro in collaboration with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Association (BDYSA), culminated with great enthusiasm today at DPS Bokaro.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by the dignified presence of the Chief Guest Asha Kiran Barla, Gold Medalist of the Youth Asian Athletics Championship 2022. Bipin Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Yogasana Sport Association of Jharkhand was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 250 students representing various schools in the district. The championship was a celebration of the participants’ dedication, hard work and the spirit of sportsmanship.
It provided a platform to recognize and applaud the exceptional talent displayed by the young yogis. On the basis of participants’ performance, Team Delhi Public School, Bokaro clinched the overall championship consecutively for the second time. GGPS, Chas bagged the first runners-up position, while ARS Public School secured the second runners-up position. The winners were awarded with certificates, medals and trophy.
The Chief Guest congratulated the participants and said that yoga has been acknowledged at the national and international level. She emphasised that young children should practice this art from an early age to gain expertise to remain physically and mentally fit. The Guest of Honour encouraged students to adopt yoga as their future career besides sports activity.
Principal DPS Bokaro and President, BDYSA, Dr. A. S. Gangwar stated that the event served as an inspiration for aspiring athletes to embrace yoga as a holistic approach to the physical and mental well-being. The successful conduct of the 2nd Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Championship is an evidence to the growing popularity of yoga in the region.
