Bokaro: Three vehicles, including a truck, a tractor, an autorickshaw, and a truck loaded with gas cylinders, were involved in an accident near Khutri Polytechnic under Jaridih police station. Two people were killed and seven injured. It happened at midnight. The truck carrying gas cylinders rammed the tractor from its back as it was parked along the road.
An autorickshaw that was coming on a truck’s back also collided with it as well. After the incident, a group of locals, mostly those related to the deceased, blocked the road for several hours and demanded compensation. The agitators were adamant over the demand that the dependents of the deceased be given jobs in gas bottling plants as well as government compensation.
Officer incharge of Jaridih Police Station, Mohammad Rustam and block development officer, Ujjwal Soren reached the spot and persuaded the people to end the road jam. “The jam was lifted the traffic normalised. The deceased were driver and conductor of tractor,” said OC.
