UPSC: At least 3 among top 160 rankers are ex-DPS, Bokaro students


Bokaro: Yash Jaluka of DPS Bokaro (2014 Batch), made is alma mater and the state of Jharkhand proud by getting 4th rank in the country, followed by Shubham Khandelwal fetching 133rd rank and Ritvik Srivastava 155th rank in the UPSC- Civil Services Examination results which were published yesterday.

Yash is assured getting Indian Administrative or Indian Foreign Services while Shubham and Ritvik are sure to get either IAS or IPS as per vacancies of this year. Yash Jaluka, from Jharia, Dhanbad completed his B.Com and Masters from Delhi University. His family is presently settled in Budbil, Odisha. His father Manoj Jaluka, is a businessman and his mother  Shobha Jaluka is a homemaker.

While talking to the school, Yash said, ” This was my first attempt in this exam. My time in DPS was incredibly helpful in shaping my thinking, while also teaching me the importance of hard work. It was also my first experience of a wider academic environment as it had students from various parts of Eastern India and beyond, which gave me very valuable lessons and friendships.” “To all students reading this, I would like to tell that no matter what field you choose to pursue, civil services or beyond, do it with a sense of service towards others. DPS encapsulated this perfectly, with its motto of Service before Self being a lifelong mantra” he added.

Shubham Kumar Khandelwal (Batch 2009) from Katras completed his schooling from Delhi Public school Bokaro Steel City. He pursued his B.Tech (Mechanical) from IIT. His father is a businessman and mother is a homemaker.

Ritvik Srivastava (Batch 2014) is from Bokaro. After completing his schooling from Delhi Public School Bokaro Steel City, he did Electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur. During this time he published some of his research papers as well. Ritvik’s father Rajiv Srivastava , is a CGM in Bokaro Steel Plant and his mother  Sunita Srivastava is a homemaker. She said. “The school provided the ground in which my son could challenge his potential and grow.”

A.S. Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro expressed his happiness on this splendid achievement of the students. He congratulated them and said “These delightful moments are the result of the assiduous efforts put forward by our students. It is indeed remarkable that these young achievers have proved that self study is the surest way to succeed. I am confident that they will turn out to be youth icons and will set examples in the society with their selfless endeavours. I send them my blessings and wish them the best.”
