Bokaro: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government would from June 21 revert to the centralised procurement of COVID-19 vaccines and provide free shots to states for inoculation of all above the age of 18. On June 8, the government issued the Revised Vaccination Guidelines.
Revised Guidelines for implementation of National COVID Vaccination Program stated that the price of vaccine doses for private hospitals would be declared by each vaccine manufacturer, and any subsequent changes would be notified in advance. The private hospitals may charge up to a maximum of Rupees 150 per dose as service charges. State Governments may monitor the price being so charged, said sources.
Now the central government has fixed the maximum rates of corona vaccine for private hospitals and has shared the revised rate of the vaccine. According to the revised rate issued by the government, Covishield will now be available for Rs 780 in private vaccination centers while Covaccine will be available for Rs 1410. At the same time, the price of Sputnik has also been reduced to 1145.
