Vedanta’s ESL conducts mock fire drill to practice emergency response


Bokaro: Vedanta Group company ESL Steel Limited conducted Fire Service Week at its plant campus on Thursday. A Mega Mock Drill was conducted at the plant.

Approximately 76 personnel took part in the exercise which was followed by a training session on fire fundamentals and fire extinguisher types. Additionally, pamphlets describing different types of fires and their extinguishing methods were distributed to the public.

“This Mock drill was successfully carried out in the presence of R.K. Tiwari, Fire Officer, Chas (Jharkhand Fire Services), K Sandeep, Chief Safety Officer of ESL, and Nitesh Kumar Nirala, SBU Director Iron & Power cum Incident Controller,” said Vanshika Rakesh an officer of Public Relation Department of ESL.

The main objective of this operation was to raise awareness among workers and employees. Additionally, it was to check how well the Emergency Support Function and First Responders would cope with an emergency.
