Young talent from MGM School, Bokaro, selected for 37th National Games in Lagori


Bokaro: In a promising development, two exceptionally skilled students from MGM Higher Secondary School in Bokaro have clinched coveted spots in the 37th National Games, to be held in Goa from October 26 to November 8.

This dynamic duo, Trupti Jha and Sneha Kumari, both ninth-grade students, will be representing the state of Jharkhand in the indigenous Indian sport of Lagori.

Lagori, deeply rooted in Indian culture, has earned recognition from the Government of India, and it will be a part of the prestigious 37th National Games in Goa. Rajeev Kumar Singh, the school’s dedicated sports teacher, revealed that the Jharkhand Lagori Association handpicked these young talents based on their exceptional performance in the sport.

Acknowledging the immense potential for India to shine on the global sports stage, Tripti Jha expressed her gratitude for the Government’s efforts to promote traditional Indian sports, adding that this initiative will undoubtedly bring India’s rich culture and heritage to the forefront.

Principal Mr. Reji C Varghese, extending his warm congratulations to the young athletes, encouraged them to seize this significant opportunity. He emphasised the readiness of MGM School’s students to leave their mark in both academic and sports arenas.

The Jharkhand Lagori Sangh congratulated the accomplished players, while MGM School’s Vice Principal, Mrs. Rekha Banerjee, and the school’s senior sports teachers, Om Prakash Tiwari, Rajeshwar Singh, Meenakshi Kumari, Saurabh Kumar, and Vandana Kumari, collectively wished Trupti Jha and Sneha Kumari a bright and prosperous future in their sporting careers.
