Bokaro: Success is not about always securing the first position in the classroom but about becoming better than yesterday, said Bokaro Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Rajeev Ranjan while addressing students at the Achievers Award Ceremony organised by Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro’s Primary Wing on Saturday.

Focus on self-improvement, not comparison:
Motivating young learners, DSP Rajeev Ranjan said every child possesses unique talent and potential. He advised students to avoid comparing themselves with others and instead focus on becoming the best version of themselves.
“Coming first in class is not the only measure of success. Real achievement lies in continuous improvement and learning from every experience,” he said.
He appreciated the achievements of the award-winning students and termed their success the result of consistent hard work, dedication and perseverance. Encouraging children to dream big, work sincerely, remain disciplined and continue learning, he advised them never to give up in the face of challenges.

Parents and teachers play key role in success:
The DSP highlighted the contribution of parents and teachers behind every child’s achievement and urged students to always respect and value their guidance and efforts. During the ceremony, DSP Rajeev Ranjan, along with DPS Bokaro Principal A.S. Gangwar, honoured 309 meritorious students of the academic session 2025-26 with certificates and Achievers Badges. The award recipients included students from Classes II to V who excelled not only in academics but also in various co-curricular activities.
Ceremony begins with green welcome and lamp lighting:
The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony following a green welcome where the chief guest was presented a sapling. The programme reflected the school’s commitment towards recognising talent and encouraging holistic development among students.
‘Gratitude is the best behaviour’: Dr Gangwar
Addressing the gathering, DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A.S. Gangwar congratulated all award winners and highlighted the importance of dedication, learning from mistakes and making continuous efforts towards improvement. Citing the example of young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, he encouraged students to keep striving for excellence and remain committed to their goals. Dr Gangwar emphasised that the school is dedicated to the overall development of students and urged children to become good human beings along with achieving academic success. “Always uphold moral values and maintain a sense of gratitude in life, as gratitude is one of the finest qualities of human behaviour,” he said.
Students mesmerise audience with cultural performances:
The ceremony also witnessed impressive cultural presentations by students. The programme began with a melodious welcome song, “Man Ki Veena Se Gunjit Dhwani Mangalam…” followed by the school anthem, “Aaya Hai Naya Savera…”. Students later presented an energetic Bhangra performance, showcasing the vibrancy of Punjabi folk culture and spreading the message of joy, enthusiasm and celebration.
