Bokaro: The world of banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) came under the spotlight at Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society Technical Campus, as MBA and BBA students were introduced to the growing career opportunities in the BFSI sector.
A special seminar was organised to help students understand the changing employment landscape in banking, financial services and insurance and the skills needed to make a mark in the industry. Manish Kushwaha, regional manager of FinX, Kolkata, spoke to the students about career avenues, job opportunities and professional skills that can help them build successful careers in the financial sector. He also highlighted the changing opportunities and prospects for growth in the industry.
Money matters
The session also focused on the Mutual Fund Olympiad, with students being introduced to mutual funds, investment and financial literacy. They were encouraged to expand their knowledge of financial products and participate in the competition.
Bridging campus and industry
College director Prof (Dr) Priyadarshi Jha said the initiative was aimed at developing financial awareness among students while preparing them for better career opportunities in the BFSI sector. The institution’s administrative and law officer, Prof Pallavi Prasad, stressed the importance of connecting classroom learning with employment and industry requirements and urged students to develop a stronger understanding of the financial sector.
GGES secretary Surendra Pal Singh and chairman Tarsem Singh termed the seminar useful for enhancing students’ career awareness and financial knowledge. Training and placement officer Prof Salim Ahmad played a key role in organising the programme. Faculty members, including Prof Mahavir Prasad and Prof Parmeshwar Rajak, attended the session.
