Bokaro: Two faculty members of Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus, Kandra, Chas, were honoured with the Best Teacher Award by Rotary Club, Bokaro Chapter, during Teachers’ Day celebrations at the campus on Friday.
Prof Shahnaaz Farhin, assistant professor in the BBA department, and Prof Amit Paul, assistant professor in the BCA department, received the awards for their teaching excellence, dedication and commitment towards students. The GGES management and director Dr Priyadarshi Jaruhar congratulated both faculty members on the recognition.
Students present cultural programmes
The Teachers’ Day celebrations began with cake cutting and felicitation of teachers. Students of BBA, BCA, MBA and diploma programmes later organised a series of cultural performances to mark the occasion.
The programme also featured ceremonial lamp lighting and a floral tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in India.
Faculty and staff participate
Dr Priyadarshi Jaruhar, director of the technical campus, along with deans, heads of departments, administrative officers, coordinators, faculty members and staff from the BTech, MBA, BBA, BCA and diploma programmes attended the celebrations.
The event brought together teachers and students from different academic departments, with students expressing their gratitude towards their teachers through cultural presentations and other activities.
Management extends greetings
GGES president Tarsem Singh and secretary S P Singh extended their Teachers’ Day greetings to the faculty members and appreciated their contribution to the academic and overall development of students.
The management also congratulated Prof Shahnaaz Farhin and Prof Amit Paul for receiving the Best Teacher Award and acknowledged their contribution to teaching and student development.
