Bokaro: In a resolute stride towards promoting environmentally responsible industrial practices, the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Bokaro Center, in conjunction with SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant, has organised a pioneering endeavour.

The initiative, a symposium titled “Sustainable and Green Technology for Industries,” unfurled a platform for erudite discourse and collaborative ideation. A cohort of professionals, scholars, and authorities converged, expounding upon diverse dimensions of sustainable practices and green technology.

The symposium culminated on Sunday after hosting a plethora of enlightening sessions where 15 meticulously crafted papers were presented. These scholarly contributions encapsulated multifarious subjects, all intricately linked to the paradigm of Sustainable and Green Technology.

The symposium’s focal point rested on not just envisioning a harmonious coexistence of industry and nature, but also on crafting actionable roadmaps to achieve this imperative union.

Navin Prakash Srivastava, Chairman of IEI Bokaro Centre, lauded the symposium’s outcomes, affirming that it forged an intellectual trajectory for industries to embrace sustainability wholeheartedly.

The event’s stature was elevated by the presence of distinguished luminaries including BSL Executive director Projects C R Mohapatra and executive director of SAIL Refractories Unit, P K Rath, who graced the Vishweshwaraiah Hall at Bokaro Center.

Srivastava, as both the General Manager (ECS) and seminar visionary, elucidated the symposium’s objectives and design. His impassioned call to embrace knowledge resonated, fostering an ambiance ripe for profound learning. He articulated how imperative it is to address the looming specter of climate change and how the symposium’s deliberations illuminated the path toward sustainable practices.

Mohapatra, in his address, emphasised the exigency of collective action in mitigating climate crisis repercussions. He stressed upon the symbiotic relationship between industry and environment, invoking resolute efforts to reduce carbon footprints. He posited the symposium as an accelerator of pragmatic insights, elucidating how green technologies can metamorphose industries into ecological champions.

With the symposium as the backdrop, experts partook in insightful dialogues, unraveling the manifold facets of integrating green technology into industries. Panel discussions augmented the intellectual exchange, empowering participants to champion environmentally sound practices.
