Bokaro: In a gripping encounter at the BSL Cricket Stadium, Sector 4, Jharkhand and Saurashtra lock horns in the CK Nayudu Trophy Under 23 clash. As the second day concludes, Jharkhand responds to Saurashtra’s formidable 440-run first innings total with a steady 127/1 on the scoreboard.

Saurashtra, resuming at 325/8 on the first day, added 115 runs to their tally before being restricted to 440 runs. The highlight of their innings was Samar’s impressive century, amassing 160 runs with an aggressive display of batting, comprising 18 fours and two sixes. His partnership with Arth Yadav, who contributed 38 runs, added crucial runs for the team, totaling 104 for the ninth wicket.

In the bowling, Jharkhand’s Manishi claimed four wickets for 117 runs, while Om Singh and Harsh Raj picked up three and one wicket(s) respectively, with Kundan Qureshi also chipping in with one wicket.

Jharkhand’s response in their first innings saw a solid start, with openers Shikhar Mohan and Sharandeep Singh both scoring half-centuries and putting on an impressive partnership of 127 runs. However, Saurashtra’s Arth Yadav struck late in the day, dismissing Mohan for 62 runs in the final over.

At the close of play, Singh remained unbeaten on 64 runs, bolstering Jharkhand’s position. Yet, despite their efforts, Jharkhand still trails by 313 runs based on the first innings performance. As anticipation builds for day three, slated for Tuesday, fans eagerly await further excitement in this captivating clash.
