Bokaro: The CBSE Principal Meet 2023 took place for principals representing schools affiliated to Bokaro district. The event was organised by Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro. The City Co-ordinator of Bokaro, Suraj Sharma and Giridih, had the Regional Officer of CBSE, Patna Region, Arvind Kumar Mishra, as the esteemed chief guest. Over 50 principals from CBSE-affiliated schools in Bokaro district participated in the program.
The program commenced with the traditional Vedic rituals of Chinmaya Vidyalaya. Suraj Sharma, the school principal, and CBSE Coordinator, warmly welcomed the chief guest by presenting him with a bouquet.
The girl students greeted the visiting principals and their representatives by offering tilak-mishri (vermilion and sweets) and rose flowers. The lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Arvind Kumar Mishra, along with President of Dr. Radhakrishnan Sahodaya Complex, A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS, Bokaro.
Vice President P. Shailaja Jayakumar, Principal of Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, and Soumen Chakraborty, Principal of GGPS Bokaro were also present.
The girl students mesmerised the audience with a captivating performance of Ganesh Vandana dance, followed by a melodious welcome song.
In his welcome address, Suraj Sharma expressed gratitude to all the principals for their participation, highlighting the successful completion of the 2023 CBSE exams without any disruptions. He praised the Chief Guest, Arvind Kumar Mishra, as a great and cooperative person who considers the entire Patna Region as his family, providing consistent support in solving daily problems. Sharma expressed his pride in welcoming him to the event and thanked all the principals for their immediate response, ensuring the program’s success.
Mishra, in his address, commended the significance of teachers and extended his congratulations on the recently celebrated Guru Purnima. He stated that teachers, through their grace and hard work, guide people towards enlightenment, emphasising that there are more exceptional teachers in the world than gods.
Mishra expressed his joy at being able to communicate with everyone present, crediting teachers like them for his personal growth while growing up in Bokaro. He appreciated the patience and cooperation of the teaching community, assuring them that there would be no payment-related issues in the future, as the CBSE has implemented appropriate measures.
Touching upon the new education policy, Mishra emphasised that the primary objective of education should be to nurture children into high-quality individuals who can sustain themselves and contribute to society. He recounted historical events, such as World War II, where educated individuals, including doctors and engineers, were involved in heinous acts, questioning the value of education that fails to promote humanity.
Mishra highlighted the need for education to create vigilant individuals who can drive India towards freedom from poverty, hunger, corruption, and helplessness. He shared insights from various commissions and policies, underscoring the New Education Policy 2020 as a transformative framework that will eradicate poverty, unemployment, and illiteracy, creating a self-reliant India at the forefront of knowledge, science, and research.
