Bokaro: Atanu Bhowmik, the Director-in-Charge of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) and Additional Incharge of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), has been conferred with the esteemed Kalinga Business Excellence Award for the year 2022.
This recognition underscores Atanu Bhowmik’s leadership and commitment to excellence in steering the operations of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant and his additional responsibilities at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
The Kalinga Business Excellence Award not only acknowledges individual accomplishments but also celebrates the collective achievements of the mining units under SAIL-BSL, highlighting their commitment to safety and operational excellence.
The award ceremony, a collaborative effort by the Institute of Environment Management Services (IQEMS), the Department of Labour and ESI (Employee State Insurance), Government of Odisha, Institute of Public Enterprises, Hyderabad, and Odisha State Productivity Council, Bhubaneswar, took place in Bhubaneswar.
In recognition of outstanding contributions, the Gua and Mines of Jharkhand Group of Mines under SAIL-BSL were honored with the Platinum Award. Kiriburu, Meghataburu, and Manoharpur Mines received the Gold Award, while Jeetpur Collieries secured the Kalinga Safety Excellence Award at the same event.
The awards were presented during the program held in Bhubaneswar, where R.S. Gopalan, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Labour & Employment State Insurance Department, Government of Odisha, bestowed the Kalinga Business Excellence Award upon Atanu Bhowmik.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of dignitaries, including His Excellency Jha Liu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, Independent Director at SAIL, Ashok Kumar Tripathi, and other distinguished personalities.
