DPS Bokaro: New office bearers take oath at investiture ceremony


Bokaro: DPS Bokaro organised the Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2022-23.The special ceremony was held today in the Kalidas Kala Bhawan with earnestness and passion. Anil Kumar Upadhayay IAS, Vice Chairman, Managing Committee DPS Bokaro was the Chief Guest of the occasion.

The ceremony commenced with the lamp lighting followed by welcome address by Anushka Singh, Head Girl. The School choir presented a melodious welcome song, the school song and a motivational song ‘Yakeen Kar’ enthralled the audience. The dancers mesmerized the audience with their power packed performance on women empowerment.

The newly inducted council members were conferred with badges and sashes by Chief Guest. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto ‘Service before Self’ in high esteem. With the cloak of accountability, the students pledged to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.

For the session 2022-23, Apurva Anand and Anshul Agarwal  are the Head Boys while Pragya Bhardwaj and Anushka Singh are the Head Girls. Priyanshu Anand and Yash Gaurav are Vice Head Boys while Himangi Singh and Shruti Singh are the Vice Head Girls.Liza Singh and Shefalika Singh are the Cultural Secretaries; Rahul Kumar Singh and Ananya Sinha are Literary Secretaries while Ayushi Shandilya and Rishank Ranvir are Sports Secretaries. Arya Gautam, Harsh Raj, Satakshi Parmar, Sheha, Jatin Singh and Aryan Singh are the Captains of Ganga, Jamuna, Raavi, Chenab, Sutlej and Jhelum Houses respectively.

Chief Guest Mr. Anil Kumar Upadhayay said, “Life is full of ups and downs and the struggle between good and bad will continue till eternity but a leader must be conscience driven and justify the step to be taken.” He said that DPS provides a dynamic platform to students hence the students should recognise and value the responsibility given.

Principal A.S.Gangwar congratulated the Student Council and advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He said, “Leadership is a blend of humility, integrity, truthfulness, passion and understanding.”

He exhorted students to uphold the values and be a role model for others. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and the struggles help one to grow wise and thereby achieve more. The function concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Apurva Anand, Head Boy followed by National Anthem.
