Bokaro: Anuj and Aditya Mishra from DPS, Bokaro bagged 3rd position in the National Crossword Champion trophy, the ninth edition of the annual national inter-school CCCC Cryptic Crossword Contest. The results came at the end of the two-day Grand Finale which ended on Sunday. The contest was conducted by Extra-C, a civil society initiative based in Patna.
24 school teams out of a total of 72 qualified for the semi-final. The teams had earlier qualified for the quarter-final following two preliminary rounds held between July and October, which saw 10,326 school teams from 378 towns and cities and 33 states and Union Territories participate in the world’s biggest school crossword event of its type.
The final day of the Grand Finale on Sunday first witnessed a semi-final involving the 24 teams after which eight teams advanced to the final round. The team from DPS Pune, comprising Ashish M and Kuhu Goel, comes first. And the team of V Krishna Sai Gayatri and Sainath Ch representing Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School Vidyashram, Hyderabad, stood 2nd.
The contest has been held in an online mode for the last two editions due to the pandemic situation across the country, said Amitabh Ranjan, chief operating officer of the Extra-C.
