Education is the most powerful tool to bring about a change : Vice Chancellor


Bokaro : ‘Celebrating endings for they precede new beginnings’, keeping this in view, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro organised the Graduation Ceremony for the students of Class V on Saturday. About 250 students were honoured and recognised for their achievements and accomplishments. It was indeed a sight to enjoy when the children adorned themselves with the graduation gowns.

The Chief Guest of the occasion was Professor (Dr.) D. K. Singh, the Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology; his wife Sarita Sinha also graced the occasion.

The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts taken by DPS Bokaro in providing holistic education. He shared his insights on the three ‘H’ of education that caters to the head, hand and heart. He emphasised that the purpose of education is to raise curiosity, explore the unknown and thereby enlighten the society.

He urged teachers to answer the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ put forward by the students and pacify their thirst of knowledge. He concluded with the inspiring words of Dr. Kalam that “Dream is not the thing you see in sleep but is that thing that doesn’t let you sleep.”

It was a moment of pride when the children were recognised for their achievements. The parents beamed with happiness. Principal, DPS Bokaro, Dr. A . S. Gangwar, said that the school is committed to provide the best to the children from the pre-primary stage itself.

He reminded the children that the world ahead is challenging and every step will create their future. He also urged the parents to spend quality time with their children in the journey of growth. He stressed on character building as an essential tool for a successful future.

The event began with the presentation of sapling with the theme ‘Go Green’, lighting the lamp, welcome song ‘Aao Gayen Shubh Gaan…’ and the audience was mesmerised with the Rajasthani Dance and Motivational Presentation ‘Aarambh Hai Prachand…’. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks followed by the national anthem.
