Bokaro: The newly appointed chairman of IEI’s Bokaro Chapter, Navin Srivastava on Sunday discussed how humanity must deal with the current pandemic. He said that “the current pandemic is one of humanity’s biggest challenges. It is also one of the biggest threats humans have ever faced. Engineers have a larger role to play here”.
He added that “Engineers should go the extra mile to equip medical professionals with new equipment. Using the latest diagnostic tools, they can battle this pandemic”. He was speaking to members at Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Institution of Engineers India (IEI), held at Abhiyanta Bhawan at Sec 5 on Sunday. The Audit and Account report of IEI Bokaro was passed in the AGM.Srivastava delivered this speech for the first time as chairman of the institute. He is the general manager of the Environment Control Department (ECD) of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), which is owned by SAIL. He is also an environmentalist and known for his motivational speeches about “saving the earth and saving the environment”. He holds sessions about pollution control at different platforms, in addition to creating environmental awareness among children inside schools.
A newly appointed executive committee led by new chairman Srivastava and secretary Sunil Kumar took over from the outgoing committee. Srivastava assured the house that IEI Bokaro Centre will be more vibrant in terms of technical workshops and seminars. IEI will also provide technical assistance and awareness drives to the industries and society.
YN Singh gave the welcome address and highlighted the achievements and seminars organized by IEI during the past two years.
